amberjacks and other bottom dwellers!

Today We headed offshore from Ft Myers, out to 90 ft of water and were rewarded with lots of ajs circling the boat. We dropped down the first bait which was quickly inhaled but got the better of us. Dropped down the vertical jig and it was game on. We proceded to put a handful in the boat and decided to keep 2 for dinner. We did get a nice would have been legal gag grouper as well which was released to be caught again. 
We moved in a little shallower and got into the snapper and grouper hot and heavy. Vermillions, Lanes and a couple nice mangroves made the box along with some more porgies. The grouper bite was crazy. We must have caught at least 50 of them. We were able to box 1, with a lot of these fish just shy of the 20" minimum. The hot bait for the grouper was none other than the vertical jig. 
Weather layed down as the day progressed and we had a nice ride back to the dock.
