more 1/2 day fun!

​Headed offshore today  for a 1/2 day of fishing with a family of 5 visiting from CT.  We met up at the cape yacht club at 6AM and made the run the run out thru redfish pass. We get to 65 ft of water, and dropped down lines.  This was the two daughters first fishing trip.  They both took no time in getting their first fish, a lane snapper! 
We continued picking away at the Lanes with a few undersize grouper mixed in.  On our second drift, Sam (Dad) picked up a nice 22" Red Grouper.  Mom (Kate) and Owen (son) continued catching snapper and short grouper. On our third and final drift, Sam hooked into another good fish which turned out to be a 21.5" Red Grouper.  Not to be outdone, Owens rod doubles over. After a vigourous fight, up comes a solid and fat 26" Grouper!  
Seas layed down for a gorgeous and smooth ride back.  The two youngins loved the bean bags and slept on the way out and the way in! 
Congrats on the great fish guys. Sam and Kate, you guys have a beautiful family and it was my pleasure having you guys out.
